Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2, 2026

These terms govern your use of Dayward (dayward.app), operated by Phil Gons ("we," "us," "our"). By using Dayward, you agree to these terms.

The Short Version

Dayward is a daily outliner for tasks and notes. You can use it for free with some limits, or subscribe to Pro for the full experience. Your data is yours. We won't sell it, mine it, or show you ads. We'll do our best to keep the service running and your data safe, but we're a small team and can't guarantee perfection. Be a decent human being when using the service, and we'll get along fine.

Your Account

You can try Dayward as a guest without creating an account. If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, let us know at hello@dayward.app.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Dayward. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.

Your Data

You own your data. Everything you write in Dayward — your pages, tasks, notes, and any other content — belongs to you. We don't claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your content.

We store your data to provide the service. We don't sell your data to third parties. We don't use your data for advertising. We don't mine your content for any purpose other than delivering the features you're using (for example, search works by indexing your pages).

Pro subscribers can export their data at any time. We believe you should never feel locked in.

If you delete your account, we will delete your data from our active systems. Residual copies in backups may persist for a limited time before being purged, but we will not use or access them.

Free and Pro Plans

Dayward offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. The features and limits of each plan are described on our website and may change over time. We'll give reasonable notice before making changes that significantly affect your experience.

Free plan: Subject to page limits as described in the app. We reserve the right to adjust these limits, but we won't retroactively delete your existing content if we lower a limit.

Pro plan: Billed monthly or annually through our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. See our Refund Policy for details on cancellations and refunds. Prices may change, but we'll notify you before your next billing cycle if your price is going up, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.

Acceptable Use

Don't use Dayward to:

  • Break any laws
  • Store or distribute content that exploits minors
  • Send spam or abuse other users (if/when we add sharing features)
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Reverse-engineer or scrape the service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, but we'll try to reach out and resolve issues before taking drastic action.

The Service

We'll do our best to keep Dayward available, fast, and reliable. That said, we're a small operation and we can't promise 100% uptime. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the service over time. If we ever decide to shut down Dayward entirely, we'll give you at least 90 days' notice and provide a way to export all of your data.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or through the app. Your continued use of Dayward after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
