Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

This privacy policy explains how Dayward (dayward.app), operated by Phil Gons ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information.

The Short Version

We collect the minimum data needed to provide and improve Dayward. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across the web. Your notes belong to you.

What We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your profile photo from Google. We use this to identify your account.

Your content. Notes, tasks, pages, and other content you create are stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase) to provide syncing across devices. Guest users' data is stored locally in the browser only.

Usage data. We collect basic usage metrics (page views, feature usage, errors) to improve the product. We use third-party analytics services for this — see Third-Party Services below.

Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store credit card numbers or bank details. We receive only the information needed to manage your subscription (plan type, status, renewal date).

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the Dayward service
  • To sync your content across devices
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., payment receipts)
  • To diagnose and fix technical issues

We do not use your data to train AI models, serve advertisements, or build marketing profiles.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (built on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or erase your data through Settings, we remove it from our servers. Backups may retain data for up to 30 days after deletion.

Google API Services

Dayward uses Google APIs to support two features: Google Sign-In and Google Calendar integration.

Data accessed:

  • Google Sign-In: name, email address, and profile photo — used to identify your account.
  • Google Calendar: calendar list and calendar events (read-only) — used to display your events on your daily pages within Dayward.

How we use it: Google user data is used solely to provide the features you enable within Dayward (account authentication and calendar display). We do not use Google user data to train AI models, serve advertising, or build marketing profiles.

Data sharing: We do not share, sell, transfer, or disclose Google user data to any third parties, except to Supabase (our database host) as necessary to store and sync your data across your devices. Supabase acts as a data processor and does not use your data for its own purposes.

Limited Use: Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Google — sign-in authentication (OAuth) and calendar integration
  • Lemon Squeezy — payment processing
  • Vercel — hosting and privacy-friendly analytics (cookieless, no personal data)
  • PostHog — product analytics; tracks feature usage and page views for authenticated users. Uses localStorage (no cookies). Guest users are not tracked.

Each of these services has their own privacy policies.
